As the Chinese Super League (CSL) rounds out its first full season, the relegation battle is heating up. In the round 11 of the league, two fierce battles have been fought between teams that are vying for their lives to stay in the top flight.
The first battle was between Shanghai Shenhua and Guangzhou Evergrande. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with both teams scoring twice each. However, it was Shanghai Shenhua who came out on top, securing their spot in the next round by conceding only one goal in the entire match.
On the other hand, Guangzhou Evergrande's victory over Wuhan Zall gave them some much-needed breathing room as they looked to secure their place in the top flight. The match ended in a 1-0 win for Guangzhou Evergrande, with striker Zhang Jike scoring the only goal of the game.
The second battle took place between Beijing Guoan and Jiangsu Suning. Despite being down to ten men after defender Zhang Xuanfeng was sent off early in the match, Jiangsu Suning managed to hold on to their lead and secure a 1-0 win. The victory helped Jiangsu Suning move up to fifth place in the table, just three points behind leaders Shanghai Shenhua.
Both matches were closely contested and showcased the competitiveness of the relegation battle. With just four games remaining, the race for survival in the CSL remains tight and will likely be decided in the final few weeks of the season.
